Our IES shades and opal glass reflector shades are of a superior translucent quality compared to most reflectors available today. If you have the opportunity before you purchase, place the opal reflector in front of a strong light to see if light passes through the shade evenly and without color tinting. Our opal glass reflectors are guaranteed to have an even, white translucence.
FYI: The acronym "IES" stand for "Illuminating Engineering Society." You will find most IES shades paired with a fabric shade.
